Love never dies...but it can kill.

Ember is the story of Max Valentine, a teenager with secret abilities and many inner demons. His life revolves around music and his love for it. When his father dies he seeks answers with his last living relative, his fathers brother Frank. Frank lives on the island of Maui and eagerly takes Max in as his own. Max soon learns that healing his past will be more difficult than he could have ever believed. Two major complications will tempt and torment him as he tries to make sense of his abilities.

The first temptation comes in the form of a mysterious island girl. Asia Lyn Michaels is rich, spoiled, angry and beautiful. Her path crosses with Max on the beach one afternoon, forever changing both of their lives. Max saves her life and she discovers his secret. From that moment on they are connected, no matter how much they fight it.

The second temptation will test Max’s very soul. Samantha Ann Summers is sweet, artistic, smart and confident. She will help Max find his smile again and maybe even heal his past mistakes. She is possibly his soul mate and Max will fight that with every fiber of his being.

Max’s temper and indecision with the girls will send in motion events that will cost him dearly. He will test the limits of his powers and the new relationship with his protective uncle. He will gain a powerful love and lose another.

Kathryn's Review
WOW!! I just finished Ember by Madison Daniel and OMG….it was sooo freaking good!! I have been waiting for this book for soooo long…I can’t even tell you how long. And lo and behold, I had it sitting in my kindle…*facepalm*
Madison Daniel has introduced us to a unique individual in Max Valentine and WOW, his world is filled with so much action, emotions, joys, heartbreaks, and of course MUSIC!! I absolutely love how much music is involved throughout this whole book. I know that it IS a testament to Madison himself, but being such a music lover myself, I was taken aback at how much it played in Ember. You could feel how each song played throughout the chapter and tied it all together. And, the music choices, PERFECT!! Love every one of them!!
As I started Ember, I didn’t truly know what to expect…I have had several people tell me how much I was going to love it and LOVE it, I do…but as it has ended….I am still trying to wrap my head around everything that happened throughout. It is a book that captures you from the beginning. It is fun and witty. Great characters that will consume your thoughts having you try to figure them out and our hero, Max, is someone that I think everyone can relate to. Plus, Max’s situation…lets just say, I am soooo eager for Downpour to come out…hmmm….How long do I have to wait??? UGH!!!
A definite must read for 2012!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Downpour is ten times the emotion and a hundred times the heartache. I can not wait to hear what you think when it is ready.
